John Chantler is a recording artist/musician based in London, UK. He has released 2 solo albums and various limited edition items. He collaborates regularly with his wife and partner Carina Thorén both as For Barry Ray (see ‘New Days‘, 2007), and in other unnamed contexts. He has performed and/or recorded with Tujiko Noriko (’U‘, 2008), Lawrence English (as Holy Family), Tenniscoats and Maher Shalal Hash Baz and is a member of the Organ Octet. He plays drums with The Balky Mule and drums/synth with Outshine Family.
John’s forthcoming solo record (mostly modular synthesiser) is called ‘The Luminous Ground‘ and will be released as an LP on ROOM40 in September 2010.
John does stuff for ROOM40 including organising the occasional concert in London.
